The cake was absolutely delicious, as always. When I arrived, Stayton greeted me and provided excellent service. He had recently left Jovial, and his skills and personality are a great fit for Earl Able. He even recommended the chicken sandwich, which was tasty although the portion size was small and slightly overcooked. Despite this, I will definitely be returning for the maple pecan cake and the outstanding customer service. Next time, I may try something different from the menu.
Came for pancakes, they come out that they do not serve pancakes. plan b, hubby had to order waffeln! He liked her, but he wasn't awake. I had the ice plate with cookies, speck and hashbrowns, which were surprisingly good, and I don't like hathbrowns normally. eggs were cooked as I ordered and tasted good. I also had a café au lait, which really tasted good, but it was cold. the menu was very limited, especially for children, and drinks were expensive. our server was nice, but the atmosphere was somewhat stressed. I was asked if I wanted to go to my coffee for dinner. overall it was once good, but I won't return.
Update: we ate breakfast here today. I had chickens and wails and agitation, which were very good. kellner suggested, so Hubby had meat dew, kartoffel and makkaroni and cheese he said was very good. they were made of cream puff desserts, so they bought a big chocolate chip cookie and it was also fresh and very good. parking is very limited in front of the building, but there are parking spaces on the back. we have eaten today from 2 orders of fried chickens and waffels and a blt with fries and a piece of German chocolate cake, chocolate cake, cream puff and apple cake. they were excellent. the fried chicken was well seasoned including the flourbatter, but the hen was not cleaned, but was full of fat. the whole fat cleaned from each piece and they enjoyed the blt sandwich with fries that were very well spiced. customer service was great! eating was very good, except excess fat on huh. desserts were all very good. we will return and would definitely recommend.
I recently went to this restaurant for brunch with some friends and we had a wonderful time. The servers were extremely friendly and helpful, and our server had a fun personality. We started off with some nachos that pleasantly surprised us with their unique addition of gravy, but they were absolutely delicious and a great way to kick off our meal. We also tried the Hibiscus mimosas, which were fantastic. I ordered the two-piece chicken platter, while my friend opted for the spicy chicken with Mac n cheese and salad. Each meal also came with a homemade cookie that had a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. The chicken had a nice level of spice and was perfectly fried with a crispy skin and juicy meat, reminiscent of my grandmother's fried chicken. The others in our group ordered the waffles and chicken, and they thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well, especially the fresh waffles.
I had a great salad that unfortunately was marred by what appeared to be Blue cheese dressing from Dollar General. However, the rest of the food was fantastic. The fried mushrooms were particularly delicious, reminding me of the ones I used to get at my mom's house. Additionally, the service from our female server was excellent. I don't remember her name, but she mentioned that she only works on weekends. This was on a Saturday evening before they closed on April 23, 2022. Her personality and service were both outstanding. San Antonio restaurants could definitely use more servers like her.
