Since I have left Iran I haven?t had authentic iranian food as good as this. Top quality ingredients, I almost tried the whole menu andmy favourite is the lamb chops. Also very polite and kind staff, they will make you feel welcome and comfortable.
I ordered Ash and beef tongue for dinner. The service was fairly good, it was pretty slow but alright. The food itself didn't meet my expectations. The Persian Ash comes with noodles and what they served me didn't have any! The beef tongue was too sour,it didn't taste like beef tongue. Some of my friends who have tried their food before told me that the taste and quality haschanged! I don't recommend this place!
This place never appears in anyone's list of places to eat in North Beach. And I really don't understand why. It's so delicious, the service is so good consistently, and the menu so satisfying. I didn't take pictures of everything which I am actually sadabout as they deserve the attention. The menu is Persian and there's just generous portions of condiments, freshly made warmsoft flat breads that come with every meal. Served with fresh onion, basil, butter and a bowl of za'atar baharat ? that Idunk everything into. My go to dish is the lamb tongue. You just have to trust in this..it looks crazy yellow saffrony creamy. But it's so delicious, tender morsels of creamy meat in a thick dunkable sauce of yumminess. Heaven. The kebab dishes are priceybut plenty enough for two. If you've ever been to the middle east you would be so happy to eat here. If you haven't, it's a goodplace to learn what tender spicey meats with tangy salads and rice go happily together with spice on everything which is what Inormally do . A decent wine and cocktail list and impeccable service just round out the experience. The people who work herehave worked here a long time. Very rare these days.
The taste of their food is fantastic! The broiled brain in saffron?s sauce was something heavenly delicious, absolutely recommended to anyone who likes lamb?s brain; also, the lamb shank was prepared with a good amount of patience; it just melts inyour mouth, and baghala polo was cooked just right not too stiff not too soft making it not only gorgeous but tasty too. Thesaffron ice cream with cream chips and pistachio, which was precisely the way traditionally made in Iran, was nicely made! Thanks to the chef or chefs, I enjoyed everything, and I highly recommend this restaurant. They may need to improve theirservice; otherwise, the ambiance is also lovely, with light Persian music in the background.
Good vibe, great service and delicate Persian dishes. My entre was stewed lamb, which is yummy!! Doogh is a very interesting and local drink. It tastes like yogurt with various herbs. Coool to try it! Nice restaurant for family meals and friends gathering.
