Oro at The Emily Morgan Hotel– a DoubleTree by Hilton

Nice ambience, good food but they were understaffed.

The bar and seating area is right next to each other and the ambiance of the fine dining area is overshadowed by the bar crowd eating burger drinking beer and watching sports on the tv.

Pleasant atmosphere, excellent hostess, and well designed food choices. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Fairly small restaurant in the main lobby of the Emily Morgan Hotel. Good prices for happy hour drink specials.

We were staying at The Emily Morgan and decided to stay in one night for dinner. We had enjoyed breakfast on other days and even happy hour at the bar one day. Since we had been satisfied with those experiences, we wanted to try dinner. The food was very good and portions were generous. We were a little disappointed that they didn't have any prosciutto for one of their dishes but they informed us and gave us the opportunity to change our order or approve a substitution. Our server was wonderful as well. Even if you are not staying at the EM, it is conveniently located directly across the street from The Alamo and you won't be disappointed making the trip.

I generally don't go to hotel restaurants but this one has a good chef so we gave it a try. The servers were uninformed about the menu. The food was good, well presented and the atmosphere nice.
