So disappointing. Did not enjoy our experience at this restaurant at all. My advice would be that any true foodie should AVOID. Would definitely say more style than substance. Ordered a cobb salad and they served it with brown chicken meat. I unfortunately do not like the taste of brown. So requested a change to the staff and the response from the manager was ‘all their chicken meat on the menu is brown meat’! ‘Thats their choice’. No indication at all in the menu. He was so dismissive and said this is their preference to serve with an absolute arrogance. I was served an alternative option of the Vegan wrap was so disappointing. Tasted of avocado and vinegar! Their attempt I presume of ‘pickling’ veg. Completely sour and lacking any sweetest. They serve their fries in a large metal cup but what looks like a massive potion is sadly misled but scrunched up paper to make it look that way. Kids portion is appalling. Served a Burger to my child which resembled a slider in size! Such a shame as I thought this was going to be a wonderful venue choice for our first night in San Diego. Sorely mistaken!
I love this restaurant and I’ve been there about a dozen times, always ordering the beet salad as it’s extraordinary. While I’ve gone here mostly for business lunches, guests have always been thrilled with whatever they order. The service is excellent with never an empty glass of ice tea or water. The interior room is also absolutely beautiful and interesting, and the outdoor seating is intimate withgenerous spacing. Only complaint is that sometimes the music is a little loud, making it challenging for conversation, but definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Little Italy.
We ate in mid afternoon on the patio so the restaurant wasn't terribly busy and we didn't go inside. My husband enjoyed the meat pies and I had a Wagyo burger. We started by sharing an heirloom salad which was more than enough for both of us and delicious. The tomatoes weren't as sweet as they hopefully will be in the summer. The entrees were delicious. If I lived in San Diego, I'd definitely look forward to trying other options.
As we recovered from a long day of travel, my husband and I wanted to nosh on something we couldn’t get at home paired with some local brews. Thanks to our chipper and knowledgeable server’s advice we were soon sharing delectable and perfectly seasoned sliders and a flight of the best drafts the area has to offer. When you go, be sure to ask for a table on the porch of this charming and tasty spot!
