Tommy's Mexican - San Andreas

We visited Tommy's restaurant in September when we were on holidays. I really wanted to visit the restaurant, alone for its popular tommy's margarita. I discovered about the owner Julio Bermejo through several cocktail books. As soon as we stepped into the restaurant, we felt like being in Mexico, everything was authentic. Service was super friendly, everybody wore a big smile. Food was delicious! We really did enjoy the atmosphere of that small cozy restaurant. Luckily, later on, we had the chance to meet Mr Bermejo himself, who told us that we had another 2 regular customers from Luxembourg. We talked for a while about tequilas, cocktails... and had the chance to take some photos with him. A truly memorable experience, and by far the most welcoming person running a bar/restaurant. thank you for the experience! gracias! This place is a must-see in SF!

Tommy’s is an institution and Julio and Elmy and the family are putting out the best Yucatan Mexican food around—the chile rellenos are unmatched and their margaritas are the best on the planet! If you are traveling or local, you need to go here as often as you can! It is the one place in san francisco that i never miss out on and i just wish we had Tommy’s in Denver.

Been customer been forever. The portion is getting smaller and smaller. Pretty expensive for Mexican food, but I like shrimp and fish dishes here. Carne Asada is their best dish if you don't like seafood. Updated 10/27/23: down to 3 stars because they allow non service pet inside. It diminished my dining experience.

A bit more expensive than I remember but the tequila is still one of the largest selections anywhere.
