Village, on the corner of Clement and Arguello, is an easy, uber-casual spot for families with kids to grab a slice or two, or three or more, for lunch or dinner. The pizza isn’t outstanding, but it’s respectable. They have both crispy thin and bready thick (Sicilian) crust. The sausage and meatballs, cheese, and barbecue chicken are okay. I hear the clam and garlic with pesto is awesome, but I haven’t tried it yet. My favorite so far is the modified Greek, and by modified, I mean add artichokes and pepperoni to the pie that has feta, black olives, sundried tomatoes and oregano. I have to say that the crust and sauce here are not that flavorful, and that Giorgio’s a block away does it better, but I like Village because it’s not as hot, stuffy and claustrophobic as Giorgio’s.
I simply liked their dishes. I always get awesome service there. The place is well kept and the cashiers are always helpful. Keep up the good work.
