Rj Bbq - San Angelo

The brisket was tender but lacked flavor on its own. The heavy smoke taste was noticeable, but it had a white creosote smoke flavor. The ribs could have been cooked longer and the beans were too crispy, possibly needing additional cooking time or less salt while cooking. The potato salad tasted like something you would find at a store, and even the bread was dry. This was my first visit and I always give a place a second chance. For the owner: don't be afraid to add more seasoning to your rub and apply it generously. All meats should be able to stand on their own without sauce.

The ribs had a delicious caramelized finish it was so good I had to eat it without the sauce. Best potato salad I've ever had. And they are not greedy. The bbq sauce was good. It was worth the money. The tea wasn't great but I would definitely buy more bbq next time at the over thru.

Tried every meat but the chicken. It was all fantastic. Turkey is often dry, but not at this place. Sides also very tasty. Very very good food. Nice people running the place. Would recommend to anyone.

Laid back barbecue place as it should be, standard price seems like. I got the sausage plate and enjoyed it but it could have been hotter though. Beans were hot though. And the potato salad was pretty tasty, hoping it was made in house. Overall pretty good. Staff was friendly, place was clean.

Ohhhh YES! My hub and I both enjoyed the brisket sandwich. We come through town several times a year and didn’t know about this place. Excellent BBQ in San Angelo! Who knew!? Will definitely make it a point to return.
