I went again a few years later with my now husband and it was our first official date, although we'd been together for a bit. The food was off the charts, the staff amazing, and the atmosphere cozy and inviting. My only regret to this day, as it was still there on my second visit, was not buying the yellow painting The Journey I believe it was titled, in the back room closest to the kitchen. I could relate to it completely, and my only hope is that by some chance it's still there when I return again one day, or someone else related to it as much as I did personally and gave it a proper home. (I love how individual artists are able to feature themselves there! I have not been back since before the fire, and so my excitement to do so only grows. I'm so thrilled it survived and continues to thrive. I cannot wait to return and walk the water gardens across the street, as was our hope after we shut the place down the last time ; and hopefully visit the deli next door as well for the first time. Keep the teasing emails coming. They make my mouth waster and my heart grow fonder.
Their club combo is absolutely one of the best sandwiches I’ve had the luck to taste
My wife and I were excited to finally eat here! We ordered the quail as an appetizer, rack of lamb, and aged sirloin. The quail was great but not $18 great. The chipotle glaze that came with the dish was amazing. I don’t regret ordering, but wouldn’t do it again. My sirloin was steak was ordered medium rare and cooked to perfection. However, it wasn’t as tender or as flavorful as the sirloin from Texas Roadhouse. My wife said her lamb was excellent, and I’ll take her word for it as lamb isn’t my thing. Overall our experience was wonderful, but for $103 it’s not one that has me running back for more immediately.
Beautiful house turned sandwich shop/ bar!! I ordered the gyro, it was just ok. It comes with seasoned chips, straight out of a bag and a dill pickle. The ambiance was far better than the food. I came from out of town so unfortunately I probably will never be able to give them another shot. I 'd love to try something different as I really wanted to love the place. Nice alcohol selection though we didn 't order drinks on this trip. They also have outdoor tables. Check the hours before going, they close early.
Best place to eat in San Angelo. We went on a Thursday reservation, and everything was great. I went in there thinking it was going to be expensive. It is way more reasonable than I would have thought for the quality it is. We are going to make it a monthly thing now.
