I also ordered a coffee which I waited for 10 minutes to arrive with an apology from the server which indicated the cup, which was meant for me another server took, and she had to wash another cup for me. I waited for my breakfast which by the time the server brought to my table without the toast I had finished my coffee. She was about to leave without even asking if I wanted a refill when I mentioned where was my toast, and would she refill my cup of coffee? She apologized again for the lack of toast and told me the cook was getting the toast ready. After noticing the server attend new patrons arriving, I again asked where my toast was, because by that time 30 minutes approximately I was almost done with my breakfast. She again apologized and told me she would bring my toast. I at that point told her the toast would not be necessary now because I had already finished my breakfast. I also told the cashier what happen to my toast, and she apologized. I told her all the apologies were not going to make a difference, and asked her how long does it take to toast a couple of pieces of bread? How can anyone have breakfast without toast, not me. She had no reply but to say she was sorry. I asked her to deduct the to toast, and she refused. She could have at least deducted the coffee for the inconvenience, but she didn't. I am a disabled veteran and will definitely share my bad experience with my veteran brothers. My intentions were to start the day with a great breakfast and my experience at Bobbie's Cafe ruined it.
My husband and I came to eat breakfast at Bobbie's Cafe this morning and it was amazing. They had a short wait time, but it was worth the wait for fine food and company. My husband had the two-egg breakfast which came with two eggs, grits, bacon, and toast. The food was delivered quickly along with fresh coffee and cooked just as we ordered it. I had the waffle, eggs, and bacon plate and honestly the sugar pearl waffles were delicious! They make home cooked food with Bobbie’s original recipes. They are a family-owned and operated business with pictures of Bobbie herself on the wall. The Café is rich with family history right down to the old cash register. Do yourself a favor and make the drive, grab a cold bottle of water for your short wait, and get your own amazing food. We will absolutely recommend this place and we will be back.
We ate at Bobbie's for lunch after a visit to the Mission San Jose National Park. This is a family run breakfast and lunch spot that serves tremendous food! Not only is it tremendously delicious, but the portions are tremendous. We had a late breakfast with beautiful omelets (omelets are usually overcooked) and enormous biscuits (truly a small loaf of bread). We hear the chicken fried steak is a favorite. This was a welcoming, friendly place with lovely owners. You won't regret a meal here. Or two.
My friend and I went to Bobbie's Cafe after playing golf at Riverside Golf Course. They have delicious omelets for breakfast and the biscuits are big and tasty. I highly recommend Bobbie's Cafe if you are in the area. I hope they open a 2nd location on the north side of San Antonio. They are always busy.
My friend and I ate at Bobbie's Cafe for the 1st time after playing golf at Riverside Golf Course. He had a western omelette and thought it was filling and tasty with lots of ham and vegetables in it. I had a two eggs breakfast and it was good. The eggs were cooked to my liking (over easy). The sausage was good, but what impressed us was the biscuits that came with the meal. These biscuits are huge and they are cake-like. We both took our biscuits home, since we couldn't eat it with the meal. I ate my for breakfast the next day and it was excellent.
