I really appreciated that they have a “green” version of any sandwich for those of us who love bread but are trying to cut back...for the fries, which are delicious! They’ll wrap your burger in nice lettuce leaves. Plus, the logo on the bun is absolutely adorable. The place is spotless; in fact, I took my little one to the bathroom and when we got back, they had already cleared our plates and cleaned the table! I couldn’t believe how long we had been gone! But no worries— they quickly recreated our order. I’d choose this spot over Whataburger any day!
I've tried three different burgers at this location. The standout, named The CEO, features two four-ounce patties made from a Wagyu chuck and brisket blend, Swiss cheese, house-made tomato bacon jam, and truffle aioli. Perhaps it was a case of suggestion, but the Wagyu blend definitely had a juicier flavor compared to the still-good all-natural Angus patties in the other burgers. The kitchen was a bit skimpy on the tomato bacon jam, so I recommend asking for extra on the side. I noticed only a hint of truffle in the aioli, but that’s a minor detail, as truffle oil can sometimes be too strong—a bit of a cliché in modern fine dining. Nevertheless, The CEO is an excellent burger that I would gladly order again. Growing up, I had some awful experiences with bland, mushy veggie burgers, which made me skeptical about them. However, BurgerFi's veggie patty won me over with its pleasant texture and seasoning, complemented by nice caramelization from the grill. It was even tastier when paired with a four-ounce Angus patty on the Conflicted Burger. If you're looking for something hearty yet light, the Conflicted Burger is a fantastic option; the veggie patty holds its own next to the beef. The Breakfast All Day (B.A.D.) burger initially struck me as an odd combination of ingredients, but it surprisingly worked well together. I was particularly worried about the combination of ketchup and maple syrup, but the latter was so subtle that it was hard to detect. While the B.A.D. is probably my least favorite of the three burgers, I might consider ordering it again just for the fun of saying I tried it. The fries and onion rings at BurgerFi are among the best I've had at a burger place in this price range. I suspect the staff soaks the potatoes before frying to reduce the starch content, resulting in crispier and more flavorful fries. The onion rings are also impressively crispy and well-seasoned with salt and a hint of paprika. Not being able to choose between fries and onion rings, I opted for the Cry and Fry combo—a perfect blend of both. For a small additional charge, you can have it drizzled with garlic aioli, Parmesan cheese, and dried herbs, which is definitely worth it. Ice cream fans shouldn't overlook the gelato options. Compared to traditional American ice cream, gelato contains less air and more flavoring, making for a denser and richer treat. While waiting for my meal, I enjoyed a hand-spun chocolate gelato shake, and even though I was tempted to order a second one to-go, I managed to resist. Some criticisms about the prices seem unfair. The quality of the ingredients far surpasses that of fast-food chains like McDonald’s or Whataburger, so it makes sense that the prices are higher. Still, many standard burgers are priced between $8 and $10, which I consider a good value. Although I appreciate BurgerFi, I think a five-star "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" rating might be a bit too generous; I can think of about twenty better burger places in San Antonio. However, for quality and convenience, I would definitely return the next time I’m in the area.
It seems that this location has permanently closed. It has been closed for at least two weeks now. The Nacogdoches location mentioned issues with their menu and cash register, but I find that hard to believe!
Service Poor Quality Below Average Taste Below Average COVID Excellent Value Average Overall Below Average It's been over a year since I've been here and I think it will be 100 years before ever trying again. First Ms. Inez needs a major attitude adjustment! Second I didn't get my order!!! I ordered two burgers, onion rings, and fries! The burgers were not the burgers I ordered, did not receive the onion rings and the fries were just sad! I do not recommend this BurgerFi.
Long review... Came here for my birthday. Super stoked To try the steakhouse burger with blue cheese and bacon(the picture of it looks so delicious). It literally was the main reason I chose this place out of the 4 to go to. Upon arrival, looking at the menu... I didn't see it. *ohhh no!!!! So we asked, and it was like a major let down when I was told that it was only once, and for promotional reasons, what? Really? Why? Ugh, . B. U. M. M. E. R. SUPER bummer. I wish I knew that. My fault. I guess. Anyway, over my sadness, and onto the food we did have. Bacon burger...When ordering. It's good to know it's all À la cart. So you need to order your burger, the added condiments and added goodness to the burger itself, your side, and your drink all individually. The kids meals are the ones that have the drink included. We didn't know that, so we had to go back and put in another 4 order of fries after our meals came out. By the time my family got the fries, they were already done with their burgers. 2nd bummer. The avocado is fried (I honesty didn't pay attention to that part) which was just ok for me. I'd rather have had it fresh. My burger was just Meh, it was so plain, Again I wasn't informed all things were needed to be stated at ordering (pickles, lettuce etc). We did mention it was our first time there, I think it would have been proper for them to Ask if we knew about that. It was just a sad burger, and disappointing to say the least. Definitely not a birthday lunch I was expecting. I had urban fires and those were pretty good. But probably the only think worth the trip and money. I really wanted to like this place, by reviews and pictures I was just so excited about it. Only to realize it wasn't what I thought it be like. A complete let down. For all of us. Other issues: The ice was only working in one machine. So the line was long and people were super inpatient. Lids for the drinks were also out and needed a refill. So we had to wait for that. The floors were clean, the tables also clean so that's good. The service not too long, but not worth the wait, in my opinion. Maybe one day, I'll visit again. And give it a shot. But, I don't see it happening anytime soon. The employees were busy and seemed very overwhelmed by the flood of customers and serving/placing orders. And confusion on others orders that were not done right. But in the end, one of them apologized and said they hope we can come back to try again. So I guess that was cool, but it didn't make up for the crummy lunch we all had. My family all ordered kids combo or the same burger I got. So they all kinda felt the same about theirs as well. All in all. I give it 2 stars. Because I don't think it's worth anymore.
