They also allow established chefs to showcase their creativity and experiment with new ideas. The DUK Truck, created by San Antonio's renowned chef Jason Dady, is a great example of this. I encountered it at the recent Culinaria event, where I had the choice of Banh Mi or duck tacos. I wasn’t sure if there would be other options during regular service, so I assumed the menu was limited. I went with the duck tacos, which came with two generously filled tacos, topped with pineapple, crème fraîche, and cilantro. They were absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately, they were so satisfying that I was too full to try anything from the other food trucks. All I can say is, Mr. Dady, I know you’re busy, but please keep this truck going and continue to innovate—it's definitely worth the wait in line for your delicious food!
The Banh Mi and DUK tacos with pineapple are fantastic, along with the mixed greens that fit perfectly with Dady restaurants. The Thai red curry is a standout as well. I wonder if they might bring back that delicious Nutella mousse and gelato dessert over the summer? Fingers crossed!
This food truck serves some truly exceptional dishes! The duck confit tacos are a little slice of heaven. Every bite of those tacos brings a moment of pure delight as the flavors of pineapple, crispy duck, creamy sauce, and cilantro blend perfectly. I don't indulge in them as often as I should, but they could definitely enhance my life. The other offerings from the truck are also great, with banh mi sandwiches gaining popularity among fans, but I think I’ll stick with the duck tacos. Be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated on their locations!
I've been eager to try Jason Dady's DUK truck for ages, and I'm thrilled to finally know where to find them on Friday nights. It was truly a fantastic culinary experience! The DUK tacos are incredibly delicious, especially with the duck confit, pineapple, crema, and a splash of fresh lime juice. It’s such a delightful treat. The bahn mi is outstanding as well! Three cheers for the DUK!
When I took my first bite, I was initially impressed by the pulled pork combined with a touch of Sriracha, along with shredded carrots, cilantro, and jalapenos. I enjoy spicy food, but I decided to refrain from adding more hot sauce. The bread was crusty on the outside but unfortunately didn't hold up against the grease from the pulled pork; it started falling apart before I could finish. By the time I reached the last bite, the sandwich had become soggy, which wasn't quite what I expected from a bahn mi. It felt more like eating a Chicago-style Italian beef sandwich. Despite that, it was still tasty. Next time, I think I'll try the Asian steamed buns.
