We are 78 years old, and were struggling in the heat, Brandon noticed us and offer us a table to relax and have a cool drink. We caught our breathe and moved on after this wonderful act of kindness. Later the evening we went back with the intent of having our dinner. Brandon came out and down the stairs to the walkway remembering us from earlier. I told him that we wanted to have dinner but because my wife is using a walker we could not make it up to eat inside. Brandon said not to worry that he would take us up a a lift that was off in the corner of the building. He, then set our table, with a view of the walk below. What we ordered was delicious. While we ate we observed the other things that Brandon was doing to please the customers. He fixed a wobbling table instantly as the customers continued to have their meal, then spruced up pictures making sure they were well polished. Helped us get back down to ground level. The point is that this lad is a people person, craves helping people, and makes people want to come back to Mad Dog, which has excellent food at reasonable prices and is definitely an enjoyable place to spend time because they do the extra personal step of caring.
Awesome dinner meal. Got us in quick. Had live music, quick and good food service. Fries are amazing!! Good, cold beer selection.Food: 5/5
One of the worst places i’ve ever been too. The waitresses are so rude. You can see out towards the river walk and not once did my host check on us. Sundays are suppose to be 3.00 mimosas and the waitress acted like that wasnt a things. When i realized i picked a pie type meal i asked if i can change it and they made it seem like it was the biggest inconvenience ever. Rolled her eyes. Not to mention we got a burger with bacon a fried egg…. Oh wait she said you cant change the egg it has to be “ how the menu states” . I also got a chicken sub … it literally tasted like sautéd chicken with cheese. Like the price of each item was 17.00 . Literally a 3/10. If your enjoying the beautiful river walk i would highly NOT recommend this place. Kinda sad they have this type of environment especially on the river walk to represent san antonio. And ive lived here for 20 years and never felt that un-welcomed.Plus can you see the picture of my fries , looked like thet sat there and the food prep was too lazy to make new ones. When i asked if this is what quality they served the host said “ yeah have a problem with it “If i could rate something negative i would give it to this place not to mention it didnt seem kid friendly either. Spend your money else where !
Good lively place, the atmosphere was very good and so was the food. The waitresses were pleasant.I loved the karaoke. There is a systematic age check before entering.Kid-friendliness: It's more for adults, there's an age check on entry.Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps to enter the restaurant. This is not practical for people with reduced mobility.
Pub is just outside the Hyatt Regency on the Riverwalk. Good place to sit, people watch while having a couple of drinks and some food. French fries were on point, chili mac burger was good although the chili was a little sweet. Different, but pretty good. Burgers were a little over cooked for our taste, but still a decent burger. Drinks were sweet and cost what you'd expect for the Riverwalk, over priced with frugal alcohol. If you're a beer drinker the pub is good for you. There was live music we got to enjoy too.
