Late lunch time (around 1) was not too crowded and quick service. I had a Mango salad with creamy cilantro dressing and it was just what I needed, in the midst of eating so much heavy food. The people I ate with both ordered burritos and they were huge, easily splittable. Our waiter, Leo, was wonderful. He got us refills of water and tea quickly and frequently. Overall, a great little lunch stop on the river.
We stopped in for a quick lunch while away on convention staying on the Riverwalk. I was pleasantly surprised with Maria Mia's food. We ordered a beef taco plate and fish tacos. The fish tacos were definitely better than the beef tacos. The beef were good, but quite greasy. They were way larger than expected. The rice and beans were tasty too that came with each plate. When we arrived, the hostess said it was a 30 minute wait. It didn't seem like anyone was outside, but inside did seem busier with larger parties. I'm assuming they were understaffed, like most these days, and couldn't accommodate outside. We were fortunate to find a place at the small bar. Our food might have gotten mixed up in order because they were simple dishes, but came out after everyone else around us who had ordered after we did. Anyway, overall we had a good experience and I would try it again if in the area.
Food and service ... 5 stars. Service was prompt and efficient. The fajitas had a good flavor, moist and plenty of onions. The salsa had some serious heat. Price ... 1 star. $59 for fajitas for two, queso and 2 drinks ... yikes.
I would be inclined to give this business 1 star, because of the host. Slim, dark haired girl at the hostess stand was a real piece of work. Her attitude was super rude and she DOES NOT need a job in customer service. We almost walked away, but we were so hungry we decide to stay anyway. I made sure to get a pic of her. The food and our waiter, who was a young man, was amazing! He gave us several suggestions before we ordered and the things that he suggested was absolutely amazing. I wish I could remember his name but the only thing I remember about him was: he's not 21 yet and he has dark hair. . .not too tall, kind of stout. Yea! Ask for him! LOL We got the tacos, beans and rice with a mango margarita on the rocks and I was in heaven!! The food at this place is so good and I can't wait to get back here!!
Nice place to get out of the heat and try some tasty Tex Mex food. We enjoyed the chicken nachos with the crispy cheesy nacho chips topped with sour cream and guacamole and jalapeños. The beef quesadillas were really good as well. The salsa is served warm and the chips are thin and crispy. We had attentive and friendly service.
