Mrs. Kitchen Soul Food - San Antonio

Holy cow! I stumbled on ANOTHER great restaurant!! Looking for another fried chicken restaurant and watching Mrs. Kitchen on Walzem... sooooo glad I did it! I have the fried chicken, potatoes with gravy, red beans and the free maize bread. Damn it, it was great!! The fried chicken had a great taste with a beautiful crisp crust. Big pieces about it. The pages were all great because everything is homemade!! I grew up in the country and that reminds me of this time! Customer service was top notch as everyone was super friendly!! Oh, and the sweet tea is fantastic!! Definitely an MUST TRY!!! I don't understand how you get disappointed!!

A very friendly place with good food. This was our second visit and every time the staff smiled and ready for discussions. You choose your food, go to the beverage counter and then pay.

Family trip with hubby and adult children. Food was excellent!! We had all personal favorites... Catfish..baked chicken... roasted chicken... Yams... crowned greens... cabbage... potatoes... peach bully... dressing and corn bread... usually don't do restaurants for soul food because I was an excellent cook, but I wasn't disappointed... Great service and food.. Definitely recommend.

We tried the meatloaf, fried chicken, pork chops peach cobbler! Everything was amazing and delicious! Speedy service as everything is kitchen style! Staff was extremely friendly! The last thing that was five star, they donate all leftovers to the nearby church!
