Sushi Seven - San Antonio

This restaurant is a family favorite! We've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. I especially love the Luis Roll and the James Tower – everything is just delicious!

The selection was fantastic — so many different rolls to choose from! The ingredients were high quality, and the rolls were fresh and quickly made to order. The monkey roll was unique and really good! My husband had the curry and did have to ask for a spoon (because who eats Japanese curry with a fork?! Our server was polite and prompt, and cheerfully helped fix a mistake on our receipt. We look forward to returning! The atmosphere was nice and quiet midweek during late afternoon. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make sure the walls near the tables get cleaned — there were some noticable soy sauce splatters there.

I spent $100 on what I can only describe as some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The tuna tasted like it came from a can and was completely inedible. Having enjoyed sushi for 40 years, I honestly can't understand how this restaurant remains in business. It seems like they attract a lot of beginners who lack a true understanding of quality sushi. In fact, the sushi at HEB is far superior and costs a fraction of the price. Save your time and money; it's just not worth it.

I wasted $40 on this meal, and it was absolutely disgusting! The fish was clearly not fresh—very slimy and had a strong, off-putting smell. The avocado was brown and mushy, and even the cream cheese in the caterpillar roll tasted expired. I could only take one bite before I had to toss everything; it was honestly the worst sushi I've ever had. Plus, the portions for the sashimi were laughably small.
