I was seeking a hotel close to SFO airport due to a late night flight from Dallas, and this Comfort Inn Suites was probably 2-3 miles away from the airport parking deck. Although I usually stay in South San Francisco or Burlingame, San Bruno seemed to offer what I was looking for in terms of comfort. First off, parking. Seems to be limited, yet its within a first level garage. I had to receive a parking pass from the front desk. I didn't mind the parking situation at all, which backs up to a residential area. In front of the hotel is about 95% commercial property, and somewhat tight parking around the hotel. I was upgraded to a full suite by the front desk agent (greatly appreciated), and given a corner room on the second floor. No issues with the room- it had pretty much everything that has been written in prior reviews. I found the room to be clean, quiet, and without issues. Keep in mind that the hotel is slightly dated, yet maintained well. For me anyway, cleanliness is a major thing when staying at properties that seem to be 10-15 years (let alone any property, for that matter). Breakfast during Covid-19 is highly limited, if at all. I skipped this option entirely, of which the front desk agent (without prompting) gave me a couple of printouts of local food options. Having the need to start my day early due to driving to both Hayward San Leandro, I opted for the Starbucks other cafes along San Mateo Blvd (Starbucks is close to 2 miles from the hotel). Highway 101 South is also easily accessible. Of course, depending how north you want to travel on 101 north into San Francisco or Petaluma, the access from the hotel isn't that bad at all. Overall, this Comfort Inn Suites is a good option should you require quick to from access to SFO airport, or even Highway 101. The surrounding area of San Bruno is comparable to many of the areas around the more well-known San Mateo- small cafes and restaurants, and a neighborhood type of feel for many other small large businesses.
My stay was fine. Room was nice, clean and comfy. The guy who checked me In during the evening of 6/27/2022 told me that the airport shuttle was gonna cost me $5. He also said it too the poor lady who was traveling because of a lost loved one and noticeably in mourning ... Now, maybe he didn 't know ... but since when are shuttle rides ever not free at airport hotels? It had scam written all over it. Sure enough the next morning the new guy was like oh yeah that 's weird shuttle rides are always free.
Does the job. I'm not looking to hang a shingle long term. It's close to the airport, and has a decent little breakfast. If I need to visit downtown proper, I can use BART or Uber/Lyft and get it done. Rooms are clean, the service desk was friendly and courteous. They also have a shuttle that takes and picks up from the airport, for no cost. If your planning a short stay, I don't think you can go wrong with this one. I've stayed in about the whole gamut and don't see any issues here at all.
The general manager is terrible but he gets saved by his good staff! I would not recommend due to their management and there was a few roaches in the bathroom.
Paid the full rate online for two nights. Got to the office and they told me I had paid nothing and wanted to charge my card for the full amount again. Tried to call Choice customer service and was hung up on from a different country. Showdown my bank that had charged me for the room. Eventually they gave me one night stay instead of two. Try to access the room from stairs key not working. 30 minutes and still not in the room
