I can 't speak for the restaurant in central San Cristobol, but their Jardines location on 1 de Marzo is just awful. Never in either my or my husband 's lives have we ever taken a couple of bites of our food and been so disgusted that we asked for the bill and walked out. We started with a latte and espresso Americano. Our first hint should have been the waiter having no idea what an espresso Americano was... Coffee arrive and it was meh . Ordered a green juice. What arrived was celery and maybe apple blended in the blender. Bland and chunky. I ordered a toast with poached eggs, spinach and avocado. The whole thing was doused with so much Maggi sauce, that was all you could taste. The mystery meat was totally questionable (seriously, what was it, beef? . My husband ordered chilaquiles and they were beyond inedible. I 'm shocked by the positive reviews! They are a bit old and maybe things have changed...
The dishes are very well presented and delicious, prices are reasonable and the service is excellent!!!
Delicious little breakfast place. Intimate and a good menu. The pancakes with bacon and eggs were great. So were the coffees.
After coffee, a sweet muffin, and a glass of pineapple juice, the mesera brought my plate. I had ordered scrambled eggs estilo Mexicano (Mexican style) and also asked for tortillas. The plate had the eggs, chilaquiles, platanos fritos (I'd call them fried bananas because they were sweet unlike some platanos that aren't), and the typical frijoles with chips. Then there was the basket with a couple of large tortillas obviously fresh off the griddle. The mesera also offered to refill my coffee, which was fairly rich and flavorful. The only letdown was that the salsa picante was fairly bland and tasteless... but that was a small problem! This was by far the biggest and most delicious breakfast I've had, at the best price, after a week of trying different places.
Enjoyed the food and service here for breakfast. If you are in the mood for waffles, this is the place to be; the TNT was absolutely delicious! The crepe was ok and I got the mañanero which is a simple option of eggs and one other ingredient, plus beans, chilaquiles and fried plantains. This isn’t really on them, but a lot of musicians and peddlers can come in. So even though the WiFi is decent, I wouldn’t come here to work. It can get pretty noisy and disruptive.
