Amaya At Fairmont Grand Del Mar

1. Timer, Sunday 5:00 dinner, NO ONE there, maybe 1 more table left at 7:00. More employees than customers. Food quality service were both excellent, but the WAY overtakes Pork Chop Way overtakes WAY overpriced Snap Peas side order (was this butter or a swimming pool of butter other animal fat over my HEALTHY peas, which were then unhealthy UNEATABLE? were absurd. Less are more people. Is that a Fairmont or KFC? Beautiful but almost empty buildings.

The service is bad. We have to wait almost 10 minutes before the server comes and speak to us. Very irresponsible. The entire staff from the hostess to the bus staff to the server is arrogant and unstoppable The halibut is extremely fishy and is not fresh. The atmosphere is not worth the price for bad food and bad service.

The Fairmont is absolutely breathtaking and beautifully calm. I had the pleasure of having dinner at Amaya. I sat outside looking for her beautiful well maintained lawn and enjoyed a refreshing non-alcoholic drink . I ordered the risotto and fresh bread. The bread? I brought it back to my hotel 100% with me because I didn't want to waste anything! The Risotto was perfectly cooked and not the slightest mummy. Definitely will be back for another relaxing dinner!

We tried this place for the first time for Mother's Day dinner. The service is great. The food was pretty good. Really tasteful and delicious. It is quite expensive, so this is the only reason to reduce the rating by 1 star. Great for special occasions.

Great food a bit pricy. Must try the sides of mushrooms and potatoes and the Parker rolls.
