The food was just average—not terrible, but not exceptional either. The staff immediately places all the meats on the grill as soon as they arrive, which creates a sense of urgency to finish them quickly. Additionally, they don’t replace the charcoal, so if you want to savor your meal at a leisurely pace, you’re out of luck. As for the seafood pancake, it was too thick and lacked crispiness, although the flavor was quite good.
DJK is one of the top Korean BBQ restaurants in San Diego, California. The quality and flavor of the meat are excellent, and everything on the menu is delicious. The staff is also very friendly. The only downside is the dated interior.
I learned a lot today dining with my Korean- American friend. We did not have the mackerel, but the other fish who 's name may have started with an 'a '. Delicious! I look enjoyed the sweet potato glass noodles, which made our meal gluten free. Our server was wonderful and attentive. She gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal and have conversation without interrupting.
I really enjoyed the unique charcoal grill experience. I ordered Combo A, which I believe offered excellent value for the price. They handle most of the cooking for you, which is a nice touch. All the side dishes were delicious, and the three different meats were tender and perfectly seasoned, not overly salty. The chadol was some of the best I've ever had!
