Contribuisci feedbackDuring our vacation in San Diego the week of June 6th, 2022, we decided to check out Iron Pig due to its positive ratings. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. The service was severely lacking; my entire family received their meals, except for my daughter and me. It was evident that the waiter had forgotten to place our order because he simply repeated it back to us without writing it down. We had to inquire about our food three times before I finally went to the counter to request a manager. Even then, it took an additional ten minutes for our meals to arrive, by which point the rest of our family had already finished their dinners. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the oversight, and the manager never approached us to address the issue. Based on this experience, we won’t be returning, and I would advise others to skip Iron Pig as well. The following night, we dined at a different restaurant and it was absolutely perfect. Save yourself the trouble and consider barbecuing at home instead; you'll definitely get your food faster.
The food takes a long time to arrive, and the staff are unsure about the reason for the delay or how long it will take. The organization could definitely be improved.
I can't even give this restaurant a rating, unfortunately. While on vacation, we were searching for the best place to have dinner, but the service was terrible. We had to ask for plates three times! It's hard to believe they could be too busy to pay attention to us, especially since there were only two tables occupied outside and three inside. To make matters worse, the food arrived cold! Cold meat is simply unappetizing, and reheated meat is even worse. It's disappointing to say, but we won't be coming back, and we certainly won't recommend this place to anyone.
Got the $49 sampler which was great, beet salad was ok. For sides Brussels sprouts , beans , mashed potatoes were all great. Highly recommend this spot but make sure to come HUNGRY lol. We didn't finish any of our food and there was 4 adults
This place is below average, and I'm posting this review in the hopes that management sees it because it has so much more potential. They have a good selection of beers. The bartenders are always really cool and provide pretty good service. My main gripe with this place (I'm a huge barbecue guy) is how lackluster the menu is in its current state. They opted to put a pulled chicken sandwich on there over something far more appetizing like say a hot link sandwich or a burger. The brisket is probably their main selling point but it's only average. If they really want to be a bbq spot they should start doing tri tip and drop the mushroom sandwich and pulled chicken sandwich. The sides need work. Their Mac n cheese uses goat cheese, there's not one bbq spot on the planet that does this. It isn't great. I want to give this place a better review but the menu is boring and uninspiring. Good place to grab a beer though. Food isn't great. Not a real bbq spot.
