Then for entrees we had the brisket bone bahn mi and the braised catfish with the sweet sour shrimp soup. Everything was incredible, very flavorful, we ate until the plates were clean. Great staff and the food came out quickly. We sat on the dog friendly patio. Highly recommend!
Home made flavor and portions!Café sua da is Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milkBanh xeo tacos are perfect hand held twist to the original. Crunchy and deliciousThe beef stew gave me flashbacks to when my mom would make it. Seriously so good! Warmed my soul and I wanted to lick the bowl.Price was very reasonable!Thank you so much to the owner! You made my taste buds so satisfied!
It’s okay. Beef bone soup is almost the same as in China.
Come for the pho, stay for the other amazing speciality dishes! Personally, I’m in lust with the beef carpaccio. It’s so different than other carpaccio dishes I’ve had. Trick is to get a bite with a bit of everything: the beef, onion, watercress, peanuts, vinaigrette, AND the sliced lemon/lime WITH THE PEEL! I’d have picked around the citrus or just tried to squeeze the juice if I hadn’t eaten with a friend that showed me. The citrus slice is super thin and even the peeling adds to the texture and flavor of the dish. I could make it a meal in itself and if there’s more than two people at the table eating it, I have to get two orders. The broths are fantastic, the wide noodles are fantastic (but are hand made, so get there early if you want to try them and their specials are interesting and delicious. I had the caramelized catfish with pork lardon in a hot clay pot that was divine (but did need to have more of the bones removed before serving, in my opinion. But taste was extraordinary! The bone marrow is also a must-have for each visit. My second time in, the manager/host (owner? recognized me. Great service.
I love Vietnamese food, been there, been to the authentic spots in SD. THIS IS NOT IT bland semi authentic food, for a lot of money. It’s mediocre at best. Go to Pho Kitchen or Pho Cao Cali if you want Vietnamese food that’s a 10/10. Have ordered the pho and beef banh me, broth is near tasteless, beef in the ban mi was tough and flavorless, no carrots or díakon radishes. Happy to pay more for high quality but this ain’t it.
