Contribuisci feedbackMonday 2020/10/18 18:00: We ordered takeout through GrubHub, which was very convenient. The order was ready by the time I arrived, ahead of the time on the app, and I was in and out the door with the food in a few minutes. The bag of food filled the car with the aroma of garlic and curry on the ride home. We ordered a Mushroom Masala (12 oz, mild), Tandoori Chicken (4 pc, medium), Garlic Naan, and a Mango Chutney (2 oz) on the side. The Mushroom Masala was poorly packaged, in a leaky styrofoam container, and it needed to be transferred to a bowl when the bottom started bursting open. The Tandoori Chicken had a sweet and sour flavour, and it wasn't really spicy at all. It comes with lots of grilled onions and bell peppers. We actually got 2 thighs and 3 drumsticks for a total of 5 pieces. The meat was juicy and delicious, with chew rather than soft and tender. The Mushroom Masala was good and spicy despite being mild. It's got a thin layer of oil on top and tons of mushrooms and peas. The Garlic Naan was amazing, both on its own and as a carrier for the curry. The Mango Chutney is a sweet jam, with a hint of spices, and it's got whole chunks of fruit in it.
SO BUMMED they closed. We loved your food. Thank you!!!!! What a shame that offices being closed in this neighborhood killed some of our best ethnic food in San Diego.
Date of visit: April 28, 2018 I'd passed by Sher E Punjab coming back from visiting my lady on weekends, and didn't think about checking it out... until I saw they had a dinner buffet on the weekends, and resolved to check it out sometime. I was surprised that Sher E Punjab also runs Indian Tandoori up the street in the Sorrento Valley Food Court; as such, many of the items on the dinner buffet looked really familiar, such as the tandoori chicken, chicken tikka marsala, saag paneer, mix daal, and vegetable samosas. The friendly server who also was my cashier also brought out some naan that went well with the sauces. Everything tasted delicious and at a great price for the dinner buffet (about $12 or so; with my refillable fountain drink, it came out to under $15). The place is clean, and there's bottled beverages to order as well. If I have any criticism, it's that while there's a decent buffet, not only does it feature the more traditional Indian dishes customers may be more familiar with, there's not much variety (no pakoras here, for example and no mango lassi for dessert, either). Still, seeing how I didn't get to try the tandoori chicken due to the amount of diners that night (even though I arrived an hour before closing, there were still plenty of customers), I can see myself stopping by again.
I love being to walk into a place and eating in a matter of minutes and Sher E Punjab is one of those places. Similar to Punjabi Tandor in Miramar, Sher E Punjab is a fast casual, walk up to the counter, pick your food items, pay and get on your way establishment. You'll find all the standard dishes here and while they're not the finest versions, they definitely scratch an itch. The fresh nann comes rolling out from the kitchen once you've found a table and with all things considered, this is a fine option in a stip mall cluttered with **** like Subway.
We came here because we had a coupon and we were craving Indian food. We showed up at 2:15pm on a Saturday, they close at 3pm and reopen at 5pm for dinner. They had a great all you can eat lunch buffet for $11. it has 3 meat dishes, 3 veggie dishes, 2 kinds of rice, several desserts, salad, and naan. hands down the Veggie Korma was the BEST dish (although my +1 said the coconut chicken was also really good). The korma was creamy, thick, and just the right amount of spice. I ate way too much because the flavors were so good! Even though they were closing within the hour, they still had a lot of options and were willing to keep making food to ensure we had enough to eat. The tables were quickly bussed and cleaned after other people left and I noticed that everyone left full and satisfied. It's not near our house but if I'm in the area I'll definitely stop by again!
