It used to be my favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego, but after they rebranded to Zab Linda, the prices on the menu increased. The food quality is still good, but it’s not as spicy as it used to be (I ordered a level 3 spiciness and received a level 0). The interior decor remains unchanged, so it’s possible that the owners and chefs are still the same. It’s just disappointing that the prices have gone up while the spiciness has decreased.
We tried the Red Thai Curry with Tofu at this restaurant, and I loved every bite. It was incredibly delicious! I can't wait to explore more options on the menu. Take their spice levels seriously; when they give a friendly warning, they truly mean it! We ordered our dish with a spice level of 4, but I think a 3 would have been a better choice for us. This is a must-try spot! Highly recommended if you're in San Diego!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in SD. I knew about this place over 7 years ago when they were in their tiny old position. The food here is still really good, but their prices are more than other comparable places. For example, steamed rice is not included. And the portion size is intended for 1 person, so on the smaller size. Especially the size of their larvae plates. I will be used to have remnants when I order several items for this price class. And I know some places with equally good Thai Issan or Lao spots on site. I mainly came here to try certain items on their menu. I don't know what happened, but I guess the rent increase in her new place is why the portion size seems smaller. Food is still really good. However, interior decoration needs some improvements or upgrades.
This was a quick stop for lunch before heading to the airport. The Original Sab-E-Lee, located at 6925 Linda Vista Rd, San Diego, CA is a petite quaint Thai restaurant, which offers cuisine with a surprisingly robust flavor. I enjoyed the Pad Woon Sen. My husband and I shared and enjoyed the Egg Drop Soup and Garlic Wings.
