I was aware that the atmosphere might be lacking during the day compared to the evening, but I was primarily interested in trying the food. I ordered the chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti. The dish seemed to be made to order, which was a good sign, but it took over 15 minutes to be served, indicating that it was not prepared beforehand. The dish was decent, but not as flavorful as I had hoped. The spaghetti was average, and the meat sauce needed more seasoning or salt for added taste. The service was satisfactory, although there was only one person serving multiple tables at once. The photos of the food looked appetizing, but unfortunately, the actual dish did not quite live up to its $20 price tag.
I visited this restaurant on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by the cozy family atmosphere and fantastic ambiance. The service was excellent and we will definitely be returning. We even ordered a pizza to go, which was delicious!
This restaurant is definitely one of the best Italian spots in San Diego (and my girlfriend and I have tried almost all of them). The prices are fair, and the portions are large. The antipasto, in particular, was outstanding. Even though we did takeout this time, we are looking forward to dining in next time.
Reminds me of the small italian restaurants in up state New York in the 70s.
This was the most amazing italian food I've ever had, anywhere.
