However, my friend ordered steak frites and banana nut bread, which took 30 minutes to arrive and was clearly not fresh. It seemed like we were forgotten about; the online menu advertised the bread as freshly baked and warm with bananas draped decadently over it, but we ended up waiting 30 minutes for a slice of dry bread. Unfortunately, I must say that the service was lacking during both visits. We had to repeatedly flag down the waitstaff, even though it wasn’t busy either time. On my first visit, despite having a reservation, I had to walk in and find someone to seat us. The manager was present during dinner and was friendly, attempting to address the issues of the night, and I mentioned that I would return for brunch. I did return for brunch, but sadly, nothing improved. Overall, if you don’t mind waiting a long time for your food and drinks, I’d recommend this place because the food is quite good (aside from the banana nut bread). However, they need to make significant improvements on the customer experience, as the service leaves much to be desired.
Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. It began with a beer that was poorly poured; I even took a picture of it to show how it looked. I jokingly asked the waitress where the rest of my drink was and if someone had taken a sip, but she just smiled and walked away. For my main course, I ordered the Croque Monsieur, and it was not great—definitely the worst I've ever had. It was lacking in béchamel, and the bread was awful. One side was the soft, cheesy texture I expected, while the bottom was a hard, dry piece of toast. My wife ordered the grilled salmon and thought it was slightly overcooked, but not bad; she didn’t have anything particularly memorable to say about it either. I really wanted to like this place, especially since I had seen some great reviews, but maybe it was just an off day. With so many fantastic dining options in Little Italy, I don’t think I’ll be trying this place again.
I ordered the crispy pesto eggs, which were served with arugula and fresh prosciutto on bread, and I couldn't resist adding a side of fries! Everything was delicious. It was tough to choose a dish because everything on the menu looked amazing. The atmosphere was fantastic, and they have a beautiful patio to enjoy your meal.
Shawn our server was very polite, efficient and funny. he is a good one, but we wish him well in his music career.
Beautiful location, must be a small fancier, compared to the restaurants a few blocks away.
