Buckhorn Grill - San Francisc

I strolled around, looking to avoid an overpriced pizza slice, and opted for a hamburger at Buckhorn Grill instead. Located in the downstairs food court of the downtown mall, it was buzzing with Pride Parade festivities that weekend. Priced at $11, the hamburger turned out to be quite decent. Buckhorn has been around for a while and specializes in hearty meat dishes!

I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the current state of the mall, which is somewhat disappointing. However, amidst these changes, the food court continues to shine! My history with this Buckhorn goes back to my teenage years with my parents, and I must say, the food is still a true pleasure. The quality remains consistent, and the prices are reasonable, making it a worthwhile stop. As a fan of medium-well meat (please bear with me!), I found the meat to be incredibly tender and delicious, perfectly charred. While I miss the little medallions they used to serve, the current preparation still maintains its wonderful flavor. To my surprise, the Mac and Cheese was better than I expected for a quick food chain. On the downside, the mashed potatoes didn't quite do it for me. Despite these little quirks, I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to support this business and help keep it thriving!

I had a satisfying tri-tip sandwich along with sweet potato fries at this food court spot, where the enticing aroma simply draws you in. After indulging in some heavy vacation meals, I chose the kids' sandwich, and it did not disappoint—the meat, roll, and sauces were all delicious. I sampled two types of BBQ sauce and a horseradish mayo, which added a nice kick. I decided to add onions to my sandwich but might skip them next time, as they had a slightly peppery flavor instead of the sweetness I was hoping for. The sweet potato fries were a little overcooked and could have used some salt, but they were still enjoyable. The prices are very reasonable. The wait time for food was longer than I would expect for a quick service place. If I lived in the area, I would definitely return.

This place was better than I excepted! The service is very quick and we got our food within 10 minutes. The chicken sandwich is very filling. The chicken is unfortunately very thin and not well seasoned. I wish the chicken was a little thicker and meatier. Some part of the chicken were a little tough and hard to bite. The bread is nice and crispy and the house sauce is not bad. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and the portion was a good size. The fries here are AMAZING and the biggest reason for a higher rating despite the chicken sandwich. The fries are perfectly crispy and crunchy and well salted. I would absolutely come back for the fries, but probably not for the burger.

I was working in the city and was super hungry for lunch since it was an hour walk away I had time to go explore and try something new! Luckily I was working with my friends at the time so all we could think about was what are we eating for lunch lol! This spot was like a 5 minute walk from where we were working and it smelled really good so we decided to give this place a shot. The first time coming here I ordered a bacon cheddar cheeseburger with sweet potato fries! Man oh man that was sooo delicious it was made just right! Not too seasoned not under seasoned made just right! I loved it but I'm a tiny little thing so I could finish all of it. Lucky for me, my mans loves to eat whatever I don't finish so by the time I got home and took a shower he already f ed it up lol. The second time I came for my 15 minute coffee break I was super hungry and we decided to come here again. This time I ordered from the kids menu because I knew I couldn't finish it all by myself. I ordered a bowl of mash potatoes with shredded beef topped with gravy.....yummmm!!! That thing was sooo good and delicious, the smashed potatoes made just right not too chunky, had the right amount of flavor. Not to mention the beef and gravy was delicious too so the combination of both...yum!!! Definitely wouldn't mind coming to this spot again to grab some food!
