What a delightful way to spend a Friday evening in the city! We wandered in and were warmly welcomed by Nestor (the entire team truly embodies warm hospitality) who managed to accommodate us without a reservation. The atmosphere is cozy, and sitting at the counter allowed us to get to know our host a little better through friendly introductions. I highly recommend the Tavern pizza, and if you're especially hungry, consider adding another. Two pizzas were more than enough for the two of us, with plenty left over for takeout to enjoy later.

This is a fantastic wine bar for meeting up with friends and catching up. It's not too loud or crowded during the week, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed get-together.

Unfortunately, Fig and Thistle, which used to be a charming little gem tucked away in an alley, has now joined forces with Outtasight Pizza on Gough. The details of this partnership are a bit confusing when you walk in. The ambiance is cute and pleasant for an evening out, but here's the major issue: my friend and I stopped by for a couple of drinks at the bar and were hit with an automatic 20% gratuity. What should have been a reasonable price for two glasses of wine ended up costing us $45 for two small servings. This is not acceptable. While I can understand auto gratuity for meals, I believe it’s unnecessary for drinks alone. This may seem like a minor complaint, but it’s really about the principle—drinks are already marked up by 25%, and ordering them is much simpler than placing a complex food order. I won’t be returning to this spot again.

The restaurant has a cozy and inviting ambiance, complemented by a great selection of wines and delicious small plates! The staff is incredibly welcoming as well.
