Contribuisci feedbackHands down. The BEST SE Asian food you will find in the Bay Area. The Hainan chicken rice is legit legit legit. Their curry noodle. Their fresh veggies. Their sandos. Everything. Is. FRIKKEN. Delicious.Hainan Chicken is melt in your mouth moist, flavors are always on point, generous portions, and most of all consistent. every. time.Don't let the location fool you. The walk up counter in BayShore makes this a super casual spot you can enjoy under their covered patio. For me, I gotta hit up Good Gais every time I am in San Francisco, order ahead for takeout, and easily hop back on 101.It's super clear the chef here cares about flavor, quality, and depth. They've done a fantastic job bringing the unassuming but incredibly scrumptious cuisine of SE Asia to the Bay Area in their own yet authentic way.The best part? This is a co op with Hawker Alley and Chairman Truck's infamous Coca Cola braised pork baos. Which means you get an amazing variety of top quality street food as if you were in Singapore/Malaysia!I could go on about their expansive menu but JUST GO AND CHECK EM OUT already and get yourself hooked on the best kept secret in SF.
How have I not written a review for this place yet?! Good Gai's is my fave chicken and rice spot that I have tried so far in the Bay Area. I like what I like and sometimes I am not adventurous so I have only tried their Chicken Rice (poached chicken) and their Crispy Gai (fried chicken). While both are so good with different sauces, I try to be healthier by eating their poached chicken that comes with a marinated rice, poached (but not dry) chicken and some yummy greens with sauce. My hubby taught me a hack to make the rice even tastier and I'm normally not one to like additional oil in my food, but now I cannot eat the rice any other way. We take the ginger scallion oil sauce and mix it with the rice and chicken and the rice is so yummy this way! I still dip my chicken into the green (I believe they call it the KMG sauce) and the whole meal is just perfection (IMO hehe). What really makes them stand out here compared to other chicken and rice spots are their sauces. If you haven't tried them yet, I highly recommend trying them out! Their Oakdale location has outdoor seating only and there's usually plenty of parking.
A hole in the wall type place in SF. Spacious patio seating. Curt and the team create very authentic and delicious Southeast Asian dishes. What I tried: Crispy Gai with GG Red Curry Sauce KMG sauce I prefer crispy chicken versus chicken and rice. Good pairing with the sauces. Chicken Rice with Ginger scallion sauce this is such a comforting meal. Simple. Curry Mee Noodle Soup love the fish balls. Very unique dish. I shared some with my dad and he liked it! Hot Honey Mustard Chicken Salad my friend liked the salad! Very colorful. Gai Lo Mein the noodles were long and chewy! One of my fave dishes. Ayam Mentenga Butter Chicken it may not look photogenic but it sure tasted so yummy! Reminded me of orange chicken. Basil Chicken so good! With rice and perfectly fried egg! I also tried crispy chicken skins which tasted like chicharrones side of garlicky greens balance. Amongst the dishes I 've tried, I liked the crispy gai with GG red curry sauce KMG sauce, gai lo mein, ayam mentenga butter chicken, basil chicken, and curry mee noodle soup. #supportsmallbusinesses
Best chicken rice in SF. Everything is perfectly seasoned and they give you an array of sauces to go with the chicken rice.
Good Gia's are good at chicken. Those chicken bowls are delicious and the chicken I got was crispy and tender . Great rice and sauces in the bowls. The broth was excellent. Must retry.
