We knew it was going to be something special when we read in the description on the menu that it incorporates garlic butter among all the other ingredients that addition almost in and of itself is enough to elevate this dish to ultimate heights. But there's something about/in the house sauce that just adds a dimension of flavor to it, that while pretty much is indescribable, it puts their garlic noodles at the very top! I got my order with pork chops, and I expected the pork chops to be the usual thin, overcooked, sometimes over charred/barbequed, and/or not sizeable; but I was so very pleasantly surprised! The pork chops was tender (a rarity in normal Vietnamese restaurant fare , a very big/generous serving that was notably not thin, and tasted delicious with how it was grilled barbequed!I can see why other reviews have stated that they ate the best Bahn Mi Sandwich they've ever had here! Along with the traditional offerings (vegetarian, chicken, beef , they offer an even more impressive eclectic variety to choose from such as jambon ham and extraordinarily enough; Pork Belly (I've never seen that in a bahn mi sandwich before! ! The Pork Belly was so very tender and fatty; you could eat it without teeth! It was just delectable. The bread was so soft, you can definitely tell that it wasn't more than a day old and is baked fresh daily; whether it was baked here or delivered fresh from a bakery. It is simply superb. Another notable feature of the Bahn Mi was the size of it was actually very impressive; I'd say it was one of the biggest bahn mi sandwiches I've ever had!The Batter Fried Calamari was utterly excellent. It came out and was served so quick; it seemed like just mere moments right after putting in the order. It is precisely cooked where it is just the right amount of chewiness (not too chewy ; which, while fried calamari is pretty much straightforward to make, being too chewy can be the downfall of many a fried calamari. Tanglad's is just perfectly lightly breaded using a splendid breading. The sweet chili sauce that accompanies it is a wonderful touch and tastes outstanding with it; which can easily be expected as it is the same sauce that is usually also served with shanghai lumpia. The pho was as legit as it gets. We ordered the Rare Steak With Beef Meatballs Pho. Theirs is a really good sized serving; of course there are other massive bigger servings at other places, but those are more of a selling point gimmick/what they're known for.My wife also got a Thai Iced Tea, which she thoroughly enjoyed.I also really love the set up of this place. This restaurant has a delightful little nook before the its main entrance. It's advantageous to keep away from the cold, but my most favorite feature is that you can also bring the dog in with you to dine! It has about 4 or 5 tables, with wooden banquette seating along the 3 walls. It's nice that they even add sitting pillows for them as well!Just as praiseworthy as their food and set up, this place also comprises of such wonderful, friendly, great service! The service staff is sweet friendly, and the kitchen is swift and first rate; it is something very impressive that the kitchen can be so swift without any loss in quality. Another example of such exceptional service is just how frequently the service staff comes out just to refill your water. The parking can be tricky since it's in The Castro. After coming here and having a hard time finding parking, I suggest when searching for parking to try and avoid the main streets or it'll make it hard to circle around the area; and since it's The Castro you can expect there to be a lot of pedestrians to clog up the intersections So it would be better to just stay near/around the surrounding neighborhoods when on the search. In the end, we may not have had a particular reason to go to The Castro when visiting T
Excellent service and ambience. Was not the best garlic noodles I had had but a good meal anyways. Would recommend garlic noodles with lemon grass beef. Grilled five spice chicken was good too but not outstanding. But again, worth a try.
I decided to try this place because they had a coupon promo running and wow I will be back!! It is so good!! Nice portions and super fresh food. They also left a cute little thank you on my receipt so if I didn't love them before I do now. Haha. Five stars!!
Simply the Best!! Food is so delicious and price is even better. I totally recommend it, I usually go twice a week. The chicken breast white meat pho is 5 starts. Parking is hard to get btw.
Got the seafood pho to go. Great! Fast service, they said 5 minutes when I ordered via phone. The broth was still HOT ? when I got home with the order. Would come back again!
