Al Hamra Indian Pizza Curry

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is amazing and the customer service is incredibly friendly. The chicken curry and chicken tandoori are always a treat. And definitely don’t forget to try the cheese naan!

This is definitely my favorite place in the city for the most delicious chicken tikka. It's an outstanding family-owned restaurant that serves curry by the bowl, pizza by the slice, and plenty of smiles with every visit.

Getting there is easy; if you’re coming from out of town and craving some delicious Indian/Pakistani cuisine, the 16th Street Bart station isn’t too far, and you can also catch the 49 or 14 bus nearby. They have a restroom and ample seating inside. When I first visited, I started with the chicken tikka slice. Make sure to ask for tikka sauce on the slice and have it warmed up—trust me, it’s a game-changer! I’d rate it 4.5/5. Their chicken roll is my absolute favorite; it’s like a butter chicken burrito wrapped in naan, filled with seasoned basmati rice and onions. Don’t forget to ask for the mint chutney and spicy tamarind sauce to elevate the flavors. This dish gets a 4.75/5 from me. When I’m in the mood for something hearty, I opt for their chicken thali. Recently, I’ve been swapping the lentils for saag paneer, and if I’m feeling indulgent, I add garlic cheese naan to my order. The garlic cheese naan is heavenly, with a perfect cheese pull every time. On my last visit, I went with the regular butter naan. Each bite was so delicious, it almost made me shed tears of joy. The saag paneer and tikka chicken are packed with rich flavors and spices. I could eat here any day of the week, and it’s always reliably fantastic—almost like they sprinkle a little magic in their dishes! I always pair my meal with a Sprite, which deserves a 5/5. I really appreciate the owners and staff—it's their dedication that keeps this place thriving. Without them, it wouldn’t be Al Hamra. Hambeezy is definitely the place to be!

So much food for the price. I wish it came in kids sizes. My husband and I are here it was so good. We gave our leftovers to homeless people nearby.

I loved the Tikka masala Thali, mango lassie was really good too. Great service
