We really enjoyed this place! The curries were fantastic and the naan was delicious. It's tough to find good curries in San Francisco, so we were pleasantly surprised. Our server was excellent, but we did have a slight issue with our drinks being delayed. When our food arrived, it was presented in a somewhat disorganized manner, but it didn't detract from how delicious everything was. Our group of five ordered curries, rice, naan, appetizers, a tandoori platter, sides, and beer, and the total bill came out to be under $50 per person, which we thought was a great deal.
I had to find a place that could cater to various dietary requirements, and Aslam's Rasoi Square came to the rescue. With options for carnivores, vegans, pescatarians, gluten-intolerant individuals, lactose-intolerant individuals, and vegetarians, everyone was able to enjoy delicious dishes.
Great little place where we had curries, naans, Tandori chicken, everything was good! slightly more expensive than other places $2/3 per curry, nothing big) but it was worth it, and the service was great. will come back!
We returned to Aslam's Rasoi (it has become an occasional go-to spot when we're in the City). Our party of three arrived in advance of our reservation time (it look considerably less time than expected to get across town), but even on a Saturday night, they were able to seat us immediately. The hostess/server was upbeat and friendly, and quickly took our order for beverages, appetizers, and indeed the rest of the meal. Beverages arrived, and seemingly within about five minutes after that, all of the meal, with the distinct exception of the samosas we had ordered as an appetizer. After reminding the gentleman who delivered the food from the kitchen that we had placed an order for samosas as an appetizer, but had the entire meal already on the table, he went off, and brought out the appetizers, as we were already well into the meal. The original hostess/server returned, apologizing that we were one of four tables whose appetizer orders were not received until late. The meal was delicious, with tremendous portions most suitable for family-style sharing, although the samosas, which we were looking forward to from the beginning, ended up going home as leftovers, uneaten, along with decent remaining portions of three of the entrées, and two servings of rice pudding (on the house, as an apology for messing up the appetizer). So, to summarize: the food, as usual, did not disappoint, with great flavors, good-size portions, and at a good price; service was blisteringly quick (even if out of meal order); and the overall experience was enjoyable. On this particular visit, a long table of particularly loud guests (sparked further with four or five carafes of wine) got, at times, obnoxiously out of hand, with some of the group's guests having to dominate the entire table's conversations by talking louder than almost all the rest of the party combined. This went from manageable to annoying. We'll be back, though may request a move away from a loud table. We'll be back, though!
