Contribuisci feedbackI've been wanting to go to Avery for a while and I'm glad I went. I loved starting out the meal in the lounge to enjoy some canapés and a cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Then you go upstairs to enjoy the tasting. Great combinations of flavors with various influences. Balance flavors. Some highlights: the aged rack of lamb, the caviar pancakes (add on), and the allium tart. Although pricey, the champagne pairing is a nice change compared to wine pairings. They also offer a sake pairing.Great space and ambiance. Friendly service.
Are you ready for a gastronomical adventure in the Filmore? Then step inside the Avery! My husband and I had so much fun here. The food and service were phenomenally good! The menu was amazing, and the presentation was off the charts. My favorites were the lobster curry soup, aged tuna, and the add on of the Hokkaido Snow Beef hot pot. The one dish that surprised me was the grilled beets. (Seriously, I hate beets. But Sean and the other chef guaranteed that I would like this dish. They were right. It was so good! would love to come back to try their next round of dishes, so I better start saving now.
I have never been so let down by a Michelin star experience before. What was supposed to be a anniversary celebration with my girlfriend and father turned into a 4 hour nightmare.Let me first start by saying compliments to the chef the flavors were there, however the service ruined the experience. Your limited number of staff truly leaves guests feeling lack of care. Actually, The service element of your restaurant is what infuriated me the most. Some basic fine dining mannerisms missing:1) no one greets you2) no one offers to hang up your coat which is right next to the kitchen by the way so your clothes smell like food after3) ladies are served first this is so simpleAlso, I have NEVER been lied to my face before at a Michelin star restaurant. We were greatly looking forward to the king crab. However, swapping it out for lobster without telling us is NOT Ok. When we asked the Sommelier about it he brushed us off saying he thought he had mentioned the restaurant ran out of ingredients. DUDE our reservation was at 6pm. I find this incredibly hard to believe. While other guests were arriving later in the evening he proceeded to explain the menu to others saying it was king crab. I even saw other people eating it. Not cool.We brought our own bottle of wine and it was not served to us until half an hour later as the staff was busy attending serving other guests. Also, real lack of privacy here in a small confined space. 5 tables tiny room upstairs. Oh, did I mention your dinner takes 4 hours ? LOLEdit:I reached out to the chef to address our horrible experience. As expected no apology and nor a phone call. Incredibly rude.DO NOT eat at this scam restaurant.
An excellent place, with high quality of service. The creativity of the chef is really impressive, the flavors, the colors, the freshness, the combination of texture... It is definitely a 1-star Michelin establishment promised to a nice ramp up.In addition, the chef is approachable, friendly, and very obliging. We will be back as soon as we find an open spot!
Went to Avery with my partner to celebrate our 14th anniversary. The entire meal was excellent, but the tomato martini with the fermented tomato was the most memorable item of the night. I'm also obsessed with the hot sauce they send home with you. Definitely worth the trip.
