Freshroll - San Francisco

The rating has been lowered because the food isn't as good as it used to be. I really enjoy the concept of Vietnamese fast food, especially being able to get vegan spring rolls quickly. The rolls are consistently good, featuring fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked vermicelli noodles. The tofu here is fried, unlike other places that bake it. While it's not the healthiest option, the fried tofu tastes far better! I've never had a bad spring roll from this restaurant. One suggestion I would make is that it would be wonderful if they could offer a Vietnamese vinaigrette without fish sauce. This is an update to my previous review from February 2, 2019.

I go to Freshroll regularly, I love their tofu veggie rolls with peanut sauce. The fresh rolls only have a minimum of noodles (or none if you ask) and are crammed with fresh veggies. Prepared right in front of you, meals are served very quickly. Meals are very affordable (3 rolls cost about $10). The atmosphere is a little spartan, but I give this place two thumbs up it 's hard to find mostly raw healthy vegan food in the city.

During my time in San Francisco during COVID, I struggled to find many vegan or gluten-free options, so I was really thankful to discover this restaurant! I loved that I could customize my own rolls, and it turned out to be a fun and delicious experience for my 11-year-old daughter as well!

I had lunch at this restaurant during a conference at Moscone West. I ordered a bowl with vegan ingredients. It was decent, but something about it felt lacking.

There are plenty of vegan options here including rolls, bowls, and pho. I attended a multi-day event at Moscone Center and was thrilled this was across the street! I ate here nearly everyday! It's all handmade and fresh but surprisingly fast. Come at 11a to avoid the lunch rush. The lychee ice tea is a little bitter and not as sweet as I expect lychee tea to be. I would give this 5 stars but the app doesn't allow me because it has non-veg options.
