The actual place is a very aesthetically pleasing environment that is clean and safe. There are many seating and livelines, making it a great place to walk. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a great place to just sit and watch people. Now it goes on to the actual experience. It was a LONG line to the counter where you can order a light overpriced dessert (we have two sundaes). It smells so beautiful in the line! Note that there are not much sitting inside, and waiting can be a bit long, just because of the variety of people. The sunflowers were delicious! Also within the experience is a bunch of chocolate that you can buy. Personally I felt like it wasn't worth buying things as you can get the same chocolate elsewhere, but for each of your own!
Of course, the ice will be amazing. Before I came, I came on Easter Sunday and it was PACKED! took us about 20min from the outside to get inside and order and maybe 5 min for our ice cream. Not bad at all. Just have to speed up some things and move the line a little faster.
Since we were in San Fransisco, we decided to visit Ghirardelli. Come for the experience as mentioned when you are in SF. There are other things to do near Savor chocolate. We order a Hot Fudge Sundae. The order is quite long, but moves quickly. The guys who take orders are helpful and happy. Actually everyone here is happy. You must be if you kill yourself with chocolate all day. No matter, our 1 order took 30 minutes to enjoy for us. Well worth waiting, but if you have plans to be somewhere, I guess to go instead of dinning. When you dive, they give you a number and you take quite a lot of a place where you will ever find one and the servers will come looking for your number when order is ready. Honestly, the hot Fudge Sundae like any other Sundae is the only difference is a pretty decent price Gouge and a Ghirardelli chocolate upstairs.
We choose the famous hot Fudge sunshade. Perfect. Service is fast, the ambience is good for the family with children or friends (casual) and after still can go to enjoy the view. Perfect place for visitors.
Came here 9 years ago and wasn't too impressed, however i figured I'd visit again since it was my bfs first time and we might as well get some ice cream since we probably won't return to SF any time soon. Got the pick mix squares. 7 of them cost $5.26. Haven't tried them yet, but my bf enjoyed the dark chocolate mint one.We also got the create your own ice cream $10.75 total . Got the single scoop for $7.75 with a dipped waffle cone for $2.25 originally ordered the dipped waffle bowl, but then they told us they ran out and only had the regular waffle bowls. Now why would I get a plain waffle bowl when I already paid an extra $2.25 for the dipped one? . The strawberry ice cream honestly wasn't that creamy or sweet. More icy. Grocery store ice cream is better. Added 75c for diced almonds, and the amount wasnt worth 75c. The single scoop was pretty large at least, and the cone was huge. we shared this. Unfortunately, the cone was meh. And we are suckers for waffle cones anywhere we go. Once we finished the chocolate dipped part, the cone was stale and had no flavor.
