Golden Star - San Francisco

Golden Star is the top Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown! I used to visit regularly from 2000 to 2013 when I worked at Embarcadero Center 3. It was a great spot to meet up with coworkers, with fast service and delicious food perfect for our lunch breaks. On my recent visit, we enjoyed house special pho, imperial rolls, Vietnamese beef carpaccio, and seafood crispy noodles. Unfortunately, our favorite tall waiter has left, but the service was still excellent. We dined outdoors due to restrictions, but it was a pleasure to see familiar faces among the staff. The food here has always been consistently good, making it a favorite spot when I worked in the Embarcadero area. Highly recommend!

Delicious and affordable food that is worth the price (cash only).

Tasty food, served quick, and the price is right. Not a place for vegetarians. Lots of locals eating here that's a great sign.

No frills vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown, I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and it came with a perfect equal meat to noodle ratio, the broth was flavorful even though I prefer it a little spicer I just added some sriracha sauce and it was perfect. Service was good and food came out fast, would definitely come back to try other items.
