During busy times, they do have to hustle between tables, so you might experience a slight delay—just a heads up. However, they remain attentive and pleasant. The food is straightforward; it’s neither outstanding nor awful. The drinks are quite decent, and the wine selection is impressive. Sitting indoors provides a lovely view of the water, while dining outdoors on a nice day allows you to soak up the ocean breeze, sunshine, and some great people-watching. This is definitely a place worth visiting.
One of my favorite places in the greater Bay Area. It's laid-back yet has a lively atmosphere that makes you wish the walls could share their stories.
I've had many enjoyable meals at this restaurant. It's situated in a beautiful location, and on non-game days, it's a great spot for lunch or dinner. There are plenty of outdoor seats to enjoy the lovely view, but I typically prefer sitting inside where there are tables and some cushioned seating with a view of the Bay. The food is delicious, and the portion sizes are just right. I particularly love their mozzarella sticks and chips with dip. Their turkey sandwiches and burgers are also quite tasty. My partner is a big fan of their tacos and black bean chili. It's safe to say they offer a range of satisfying pub food that is well-prepared and of high quality, consistently since the late 2000s. The staff is extremely friendly and always gets my order right, which I truly appreciate. However, I have noticed that service can be a bit slow during busy game days or the after-work rush.
Found my SOMA Cheers the spot where everyone knows your name. It's my Sunday Funday haven, where the whole neighborhood gathers. Perfect for catching Giants and Warriors games, plus it stays open late for post game celebrations. Gotta give a big shout out to Mike, the best bartender in town. This bar has become the heart of the neighborhood, where I've met fantastic folks just around the block. The energy during game nights is electric, and the camaraderie is palpable. If you're seeking your SOMA sanctuary, look no further this place is where it's at. Cheers to the neighborhood bar!
Meant to get this review done earlier when I still had the receipt in hand.. going off memory now from Oct. 2023 Fleet week. Took a homeschool day to tour the USS John P Murtha during the week since we would miss the air show this year. (Great time different review!)We parked in a lot right next to the ship which just happens to be right next to Hi Dive as well. Anywhere else we wanted to dine was another drive and didn 't want to pay for more parking. My kiddos were a bit as they say sus because it did look like a Dive at first. However, the waitress saw us using our phones to look up the menu and told us to come on in and pick a seat, they would be open in 10 min.She was awesome.. super friendly, very hip (is that still a word? LOL). Very attentive until things started to pick up so when we needed anything after our food was delivered we had to find her or get it ourselves (water, napkins).. She was the only server and the ambiance was cool, especially with the ship we just visited in the background!Yes, it 's overpriced, but it 's San Francisco, on the waterfront. So, I 'm not going to get too upset on that. I expected it as even on the other side of the bay isn the valley, it 's the same way. However, the food was just ok. I ordered the Beyond Burger.. happy they offered. The boys had a cheeseburger and a chicken sandwich. They both said they were good, but nothing better than other places (and then they mentioned a few other places they 'd rather eat at) Fries were plentiful and pretty good, had some nice seasoning and were not soggy. We all had sodas, no alcoholic beverages as teacher on the trip.. again, I don 't have the receipt handy, it was something like $86 for 3 of us.Would I seek this place out? No. Would I eat here again? Yes if it was convenient service was friendly and location is great for ballgames and Fleet week, and probably a few other things. Looks like they have some good drinks if you aren 't driving.
