The decor is definitely old school and a little dirty, but this is the kind of place it is, no frills with fairly cheap prices for good quality food.
Cook manage to prepare food without MSG, no oil or less oil cooking. You can tell the waitress on special requests
The porridge w/ meatballs was the highlight. Meatballs had nice texture flavor. The beef chow fun was good. Some enjoyed the squab. The preserved egg pork porridge was completely bland.
If you like your Chinese food like you like your telenovelas (saucy) then you would like Hong’s Kitchen. Quiet no frills restaurant with one waitress and a small kitchen near the beach with a few booths and a few larger round tables that can easily seat 8 people comfortably. Was surprised they have a lamb section for such a small restaurant and the two lamb dishes were delicisioso. Order white rice by the serving to go with all your sauciness. Cash only, your credit card is unworthy here.
Authentic home cooking. You can call ahead to special order pretty much any dishes. Affordable price.
