Little Baobab - San Francisco

One of the few places in San Francisco where you can make a reservation for a large group without much fuss. In fact, we had a conference dinner there and there were actually two parties/large groups in the restaurant at the same time! Food is really good, unique even for San Francisco, and the people running the place are the nicest and really chill about last-minute changes and alterations. Highly recommended!

The restaurant was completely closed when I arrived, despite having a reservation.

We arrived for our reservation only to find the restaurant closed. We received no prior notice about the closure, and we cannot recommend an establishment that handles such matters irresponsibly.

Then, on Friday, December 29, I received an email from OpenTable titled "Thank you for dining with us," confirming our reservation at Big Baobab. Later that same day, I got another email asking me to review my experience with the subject "How was Big Baobab?" I have been using OpenTable for many years, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with them. Our evening was ruined, and we faced additional trouble trying to find an open restaurant. During our search, we hit a major pothole and ended up with a flat tire— all due to the fact that the "confirmed" reservation was not valid. It's incredibly disappointing, and OpenTable really dropped the ball on this one!

Food was only okay. The worst was that we waited nearly an hour to get our food. We ordered standard dishes. While some parts of the dishes were tasty, the overall experience was not worth the wait. I do not recommend this restaurant.
