However, the food and staff are fantastic and make this a real hole in the wall gem. The food is fresh and always hot, I love the clam chowder with sourdough toast on the side. It's always hot and delicious and great for those cold SF days (which sometimes seem like everyday).
Lou’s is on the street side of the wharf so the only view is the street. We were seated toward the back so our view was the alley. The restrooms are outside and upstairs to get to another part of the building; which wouldn’t have seemed as inconvenient but it was very cold that day. You don’t know you are going outside until you open the door. The tables are very close to each other and the entire room seems cramped. The clam chowder, hush puppies and fish and chips are outstanding. Lunch prices are very reasonable.
