Macondray - San Francisco

If you woke up today and thought, “Hmmm I’d like to enjoy a nice cocktail in a fun atmosphere, perhaps somewhere with a good oyster happy hour,” then paying a visit to Macondray would not be out of line.

Great establishment and vibes overall here.Had time to kill before an early HOPR resy so got some cocktails here beforehand. Never got my bartenders' name but started put with a cool female who made a great ryebold fashioned. Things got a little busy and a gentlemen came in to help where we trying to socialize.Drinks started coming out slowly where the owner was trying to help get things moving and after some passive aggressiveness between the bartender and the owner the vibe got super awkward and thr mood died instantly. Tried to give the guy bartender some grace when he appeared to cut himself and creative freedom to mix us up something unique but it took a while and none of us really liked the drink. We were almost late to our resy too but no sweat off our back to do a power sober walk. Jk we were still drunk.Nonetheless, it didn't affect me personally and we'd be happy to come back again to such a fun and clean place.

Ask for QuiQue, man's the best and funniest bartender you'll ever meet. Beyond the delicious cocktails and yummy food the service from everyone is amazing. Love the vibe of this place too.

Having spent a lot of time on Cape Cod, I can say that Macondray does indeed have a New England feel. The bar’s atmosphere is vibrant and bright and the food is good right down to the ballpark style pretzel. The drinks are hit or miss as they change them up quite a bit. My first visit, I had the most incredible boozy milkshake but I haven’t seen it on the menu since!

Great food (I hear) I am vegetarian lol and ambience, just wish there were more vegetarian and vegan options! Very friendly attenders always!
