Traditional Chinese food, taste is ok, the service could be better.
Thieves with mediocre food! We went for dinner. The food ranged from passable to mediocre, basically not good. During our meal , we saw several people arguing over the bill with the waitress, so we decided to check ours when it came. Firstly, it wasin Chinese, secondly, the prices were a few dollars more than the listed prices, with an additional charge that we didn 'tumderstand. My husband checked the bill with the waitress who ended up lowering the dish prices to match those of the menu, butsaid the additional charge was an automatic gratuity charge that could not be removed. She also had the audacity to ask for anadditional tip! We go to Chinatown a lot but will never go back to this restaurant.
WARNING!!! I went here this afternoon with my family(2adults and 2 children) and did not have a great experience. We ordered the steamed dumpling platter and the fried platter at $25 a pop. Too much for the mediocre food. We don?t have a problem paying goodmoney for good food. We live off kbbq and Shabu shabu lol and always pay $120 . Money isn?t a problem when it?s worth it. Theorange chicken order did not come with rice so we ordered the rice separately. $2 per order of rice, usually other placesinclude rice when you order meat. Which btw we had to ask for twice because they didn?t bring it with our food that they hadalso taken forever to bring out to us. We paid our $78 check a small tip. As we walked out she said they made a mistake on thebill and it was actually $120. I asked her to read me everything she was charging us for and when she did it added up to $104.But she had an additional $16 charge and she stated it as ?the law?. I asked her to show me where it states it was the law tocharge $16 then she explained it was a service charge so I asked her to show me where she has a notice letting consumers knowshe will charge a service fee and she couldn?t show me. I informed her it should be posted somewhere and most places charge aservice fee for parties of 6 people or more. She then asked us ?what country are you from?!? I informed her we are from L.A. andshe said there?s no service charge in LA? She knew she wasn?t going to get her way And then told us ok fine don?t pay theservice charge. We said ok fine and only paid the difference with some of the tip money we had previously left her. How dareshe! Very rude and disrespectful human being.
Excellent dumplings and dim sum! Heavily local and definitely a top food destination. 10 of 10 would go again.
