I call it a two-fer because it was both first and last visit.! Service and food were awful. It was dirty and disorganized.
We were warmly welcomed by the proprietor. Although both propietor and the service staff were eager to please, Palmyra is not a restaurant, it is more like a cafe. There is no no doubt, the food is authentic and delicious Syrian/Middle Eastern cuisine. However, if you are looking for fine dining , this is not the right place. Palmyra is extremely casual befitting students who are on the run and are looking for a fast take out. That said, they are very fast and efficient taking care of their take out orders, but they almost forgot us sitting and waiting for our order to arrive.
Mediterranean food done ok seems like a better place for take out I was surprised given the high ratings on yelp good kibbee and rotisserie chicken. taboulleh was just ok parsley not chopped finely enough and cucumbers used as filler. bland hummus. very hectic as there was a loud birthday party going on likely family of the owner, as they brought in food from the outside. may give it another try sometime for take out.
Palmyra has been our family's favorite spot for delicious and budget-friendly Mediterranean food ever since we found it 3 years ago. The quality and freshness of their dishes are second to none.
