Great job done on the small batch ice cream! The chocolate chip cookies were also delicious. Prices are fair and the location is convenient. Highly recommended.
It looks like I'm alone here. Three of us ordered the same peanut butter and chocolate ice cream. We each took a bite and then decided to take a leisurely walk to Irving. After every few bites, we turned to each other and simultaneously said, "pepper?" The ice cream had a strong black pepper flavor. After discussing it, we realized that the woman who scooped our ice cream must have used utensils that had previously been used to scoop a Thai dish that contained black pepper. Peanut butter and jelly? Sure. Peanut butter and pepper? Not so great. To add insult to injury, the ice cream we all got was icy.
Ice was perfectly solid, but customer service was unpleasant and pretends there is no rest room in service if that is clearly not true. A grocery store that does not use paying PREGNANT customers (which they were informed is actually pregnant) is completely unacceptable.
I stopped by here while I was walking through the Sunset and was intrigued by the seasonal Romeo E Julieta flavor they had posted, which includes quesofresco and guava. I went in and ended up sampling almost every flavor. The mint is made with real mint and you can really taste the herb there. The bananas foster definitely tastes like real banana too and not artificial flavoring. The chocolate sorbet doesn't have dairy, so it's heavy on the chocolate flavor and not that sweet. I liked the Meyer lemon poppy seed as well since it tastes like having a poppy seed muffin but in a creamy form. I didn't try the Finnegan's wake cake since I'm not a fan of alcoholic flavors, but my partner thought it was pretty good.I ended up doing a triple of Romeo e Julieta, chocolate sorbet, and Meyer lemon poppy seed. It's $6.95 before tip, which I felt is pretty reasonable. They can do a triple smidge for you even though it's not listed on the menu. The worker who helped us was very generous and patient with offering samples. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely want to stop by again if I'm in the area.
