Though you can make a reservation 24 hours in advance for the Afternoon Tea service, I just walked in a bit before noon and was able to order a pot of tea and a plate of wonderful tea items: dozens of teas to select from! They are not all listed on the website. I ordered the SIP Classic Tea, a plate with two sandwiches, a delicious scone with toppings [cream, lemon, and strawberry], and two shortbread cookies. Daily sandwich selections topped off around 8-10 choices. There was another plate available that included a salad. I also added on the vegetarian sausage rolls--tasted like the real thing, which is also available here. Mimosas and whatnot are also available. The shop is tiny: eight tables! They have decorated very neatly with tea-related cuteness. Tea is served in a beautiful mismatched tea set--every table is a delight to look at with the various cups, saucers, and teapots. When I walked in, there were two other customers inside--I left about an hour later, and there were six of us in all by then. I heard my server telling another customer that the previous day they had been jam-packed. This shop is located across the street from Golden Gate Park near a park entrance. The park is very walkable, and the shop is right there! Work up an appetite in the park and then go enjoy time at Sip!
A cute and quirky place for afternoon tea right next to Golden Gate Park.We had their full Traditional Afternoon Tea Experience. Their sausage rolls were my favourite little morsels of deliciousness. The sandwiches were alright. They were a bit too thin and slightly on the dry side. I loved their lemon curd though. For my tea selection, I had the Blue Malva Flower Earl Grey. A nice Earl Grey that’s floral forward. The parking situation can be a problem, especially on the weekends so give yourself extra time. We ended up parking at the parking garage inside of Golden Gate Park, which has its own traffic issues but that’s another tale. It’s a great day out to have afternoon tea and visit the museums though!
Wonderful afternoon tea experience right next to Golden Gate park! The only downside is parking, which is nonexistent on weekends. I had reserved a 1pm seating on a Saturday. You do have to pay in full ahead of time, including tip, which I'm generally not a fan of tipping prior to receiving any service. We arrived 30 minutes late as we spent 25 mins looking for parking and 15 mins walking over. Luckily the staff were accommodating and allowed us to stay until closing rather than rushing us out the door after our 1.5 hour seating time was up.After selecting our teas, china rose petal and green jasmine, they set out a plate of delicious baked sausage rolls. We were then served the 3 tier tray, which includes 4 sandwiches, small salad, a traditional and coconut scone with lemon curd, clotted cream, and jam, and a dessert tray 3 small treats and fresh fruit. The scones were the highlight! Light, flaky, and perfect with the lemon curd and clotted cream. Their Hawaiian sandwich was a surprise as well along with the parfait dessert. We unfortunately weren't fans of the cookie, which was quite dry.Vegetarian options: Can accommodate vegetarian afternoon tea if requested in advance
The owner rang my door bell and came in hot accusing me of tagging her building. I live close by and she sees me all the time. That put a bad taste in my mouth because I have bought a couple things from there. Could also be a race thing. As a business or building owner how do you not have cameras. She wanted to use a private building’s balcony to repaint the building instead of just getting a ladder. Not very neighborly, and not going to support someone like that.
