The food is consistently delicious, which is why I continue to return. However, on June 1st, after my infusion at UCSF Mission Bay ran late and with few open restaurants nearby, I initially planned to head home. But when my Uber driver passed by St. Dominic's Church, I changed my mind and decided to visit Sweet Lime for a very late brunch at 4:30. Hungry and exhausted from the infusion, I walked over from the Church only to discover that the restaurant was not open until 5, contrary to what Google maps had indicated. I asked if I could enter just to sit and rest, as I was in pain. The only female server who spoke English informed me that they were closed and would be open at 5. Despite explaining my situation and assuring her I would not be ordering, she said she was still on her break. I was disappointed by her lack of compassion, especially since she had always been welcoming during my previous visits (both for dining in and takeout). It was truly a shame.
I have enjoyed every dish I have tried at this restaurant - they are all perfectly made and delicious! The atmosphere is very relaxed, simple, and clean.
Overall, the restaurant had great service and a decent ambiance. However, the food was a bit of a mixed bag. The Larb Duck was a standout dish, fresh and plentiful. The Yellow Curry Lamb looked nice but was a bit disappointing taste-wise, with overcooked meat that was mushy. The Pork Pad Prik Khing was standard fare, well-prepared and fresh. The setting was very casual. In conclusion, the food was standard, but the service was excellent.
Sweet Lime is definitely the best Thai restaurant in San Francisco! I have tried several dishes from their menu and everything has been absolutely delicious. The service is also excellent. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing Thai food. I would rate the food 5 out of 5.
The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the portions were generous! The restaurant wasn't busy at noon on a Monday. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
