They also bake breads and deserts (pre-orders), yoga and martial arts. Very serene, tranquil, peaceful atmosphere. Love the vibe of this place. This food niche is hard to keep alive however. Hope they stay open since they are not on the main touristic street.
1. Atrapasuenos - on calle 10 between 59 & 61. Connected to a yoga studio it serves very good breakfasts (including eggs), wonderful teas and coffees.2. Natura 2000 - on called 12 between 55 & 57 - this was our favourite. So inexpensive it is hard to believe. Highly recommend the fruit salad, the tamales and the range of burgers.3. Nutrivida - on calle 12 between 57 and 59. They have a vegetarian 'chicken' sandwich that is so convincing that we got worried that we were actually eating chicken. Also recommend the chorisoya sandwich. Very, very inexpensive.4. Pizza - on calle 12 near calle 61 - I cannot remember the name of this pizza place but my guess is that Sicily is in the name because it is very oriented towards Italy and Sicily in particular. A high quality Sicilian style pizza that was just great and not salty like so many pizzas are.5. Rosemary - corner of calles 16 and 65. Not vegetarian but you can ask. I loved both the omelet and the baguette filled with a fried egg and served on creamed spinach. MMM - I still can remember it. (You DO have to make clear that you don't want meat) It is also a very good and friendly atmosphere. Note: Duck your head when you go into the bathroom.
I stayed in Campeche for 3 days and had most of my meals at Atrapasuenos once I found it. It was nice taking a break from Mexican food, and it was delicious, prettily presented and served with a small. MMhh, their mamey-milkshake dessert was great! And wonderfully affordable as well, 3 courses, 85 pesos. And they didn't care if I hung around reading my book after I finished dinner/breakfast, etc. Perfect.
I ate dinner at Café Atrapasuenos with a friend from my hostel in Campeche during the evening of November 26th. The restaurant was located on Calle 10 between Calles 59 and 61. Café Atrapasuenos is a small and simple restaurant in Campeche’s historic centre serving delicious and healthy foods and juices. There is a small gift store with interesting and unique items attached to the restaurant and there are also yoga classes that you can sign up for, behind the restaurant. I ordered the vegetarian enchiladas and the jugo “chlorofil” (which was a blend of orange, Chaya leaf, pineapple, celery and apple). The enchiladas were so flavourful and were the tastiest that I ate during my travels in the Yucatan! The juice was also very flavourful and tasted fresh and delicious. My meal cost me 150 pesos, which was very reasonable. The staff member that was serving us was super friendly, attentive and charming. Overall, the service was excellent. I loved the beautiful décor in the restaurant! The wooden tables were carved from trees and you could see the grain. It was very authentic-looking! The atmosphere and ambiance was also wonderful – calm, peaceful, pleasant and relaxed. My overall experience eating at Atrapasuenos was very enjoyable. I would not hesitate to recommend Atrapasuenos to anyone looking for vegetarian and healthy food options in Campeche. I look forward to one day returning here!
In fact this was the only true 100%vegetarian restaurant found. Food carefully prepared and presented by attentive staff. Tasted good. Above average prices though!
