I've been here twice now, and the restaurant is really growing on me. I used to pass by it a lot and thought there were no customers turns out it's just that their parking lot is in the back and the front lot just remains inexplicably empty and unused.Unlike the sister Ho Kee restaurants that focus mainly on the BBQ and HK style dishes, this restaurant highlights their noodle soups with a separate menu you mark up with a marker, choosing noodle type, broth type, and meats. They also have a full menu of HK style dishes, much like the other Ho Kee locations. The service is also very good. One server held down the fort for the whole dining room, but he was friendly, attentive, great with refills (and even refilled our tea in a to go cup at the end of the meal for us to take away! .I'll definitely be returning.
I've always driven past this and wondered if it was good because it always looked vacant. I decided to give it a try based on the reviews and I'm glad I did. They have a good selection and plenty of seating (that you can't see from driving by).
Ate there on 5/7/23 and it was super bomb! It tasted super authentic and the food came really quickly! I will come back in the future.
It's hard to beat a good bowl of cart noodles with spicy sauce. it might be very common to HKers but you may wonder what differentiates between a good and a very good shop: soup base, ingredients, , freshness of the product and the complexity of the flavors. Take the spicy sauce that goes into the broth as an example, the effort that took to make the sauce only a chef or foodie can truly appreciate. It was worth the trip :
