Knocked one star off for atmosphere because when the temperature rose we started to sweat out on their patio due to minimal air movement. Would eat here again, though, and highly recommend to others wanting to try something off the beaten path!Kid-friendliness: We were able to navigate with a stroller but super tight spaces and didn't notice any high chairs...maybe we just didn't see them.Parking: We parked about a block and a half away and walked. That's just what was available at the time of our arrival.
The chips and salsa at this restaurant are fantastic! The homemade chips are thickly cut and fried to a crispy perfection. I personally enjoy the red sauces (chipotle salsa and Diablo) more than the tomatillo sauce, which had a slightly fermented taste. I'll have to give the chipotle sauce a try next time. The portions are generous, so I will definitely be returning.
The California burrito is the zenith of Mexican cuisine as far as I'm concerned, so a place that specializes in them is worth its weight in gold.
The food at this restaurant was fantastic and I loved the atmosphere while waiting for my order. The lady who took my order was extremely kind with a wonderful attitude. I would have given them 5 stars, but I requested no beans in my salad and ended up with beans when I got home. It was black beans so I was able to pick them out. Parking is plentiful in front and there is a wheelchair access ramp. Additionally, there is a designated table for wheelchair access.
Most California burritos in this area typically feature a custom sauce to stand out, but the California Wet Burrito at this restaurant focuses on using quality ingredients for flavor. The option of refried beans and shredded chicken indicates a more traditional approach to Mexican-American cuisine. While you can choose between red or green salsa, it doesn't compare to the popular orange sauce at La Vic. I ended up using Valentino's salsa instead. Overall, the experience was average. The burrito wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out from other burritos in the area. The bar for traditional burritos in this region is set high, and unfortunately, this one didn't make the cut for the top ten.
