The 10 of us came by Saturday evening at 5 pm and everything was set up and ready for us. Stephanie was our instructor. She was super friendly and and walked us through all of the steps and was always available for questions. She took everything in stride and stayed calm even when we made mistakes, like adding too much water to the pasta dough or when the pizza wasn't placed in the oven properly. We signed up for the Italian kitchen, which included: -caesar salad (the tiny bit of anchovy paste made a huge difference) -margherita pizza -handmade fettucine with marinara and alfredo sauces -chocolate lava cake We all had a blast making the fettucine pasta from scratch. Who knew it was so easy... just 1 cup of flour, 2 tbsp of water, and one egg?? The molten lava cake was probably my favorite item from the meal, but everything else was tasty as well. I also appreciated that they provide to go containers so that none of the food cooked is wasted! We paid $93 pp for the class, so it's definitely a bit pricy, but it was a really fun way to celebrate a special meal with the bride-to-be!!
Thank you to Cucina Bambini for being so patient and kind to our large group of 35. It was truly a wonderful experience. We did the Little Italy package and learned how to make Ceasar salad, fresh pasta with white or red sauce, margarita pizza, and a chocolate lava cake. It was truly a special time celebrating our birthday at Cucina Bambini with friends.
We had so much fun during our ravioli and molten lava cake class! I've attended a couple of cooking classes before and definitely think we had the best instructors at this one. They were extremely patient and always willing to come by and help when we had questions. It made making ravioli so easy. We loved the sauce that we made and were very grateful they shared the recipe with everything post the class. They have a ton of other class offerings (kid friendly) for an assortment of recipes, including macarons!
My grandparents had given us some money to sign up for cooking lessons. My sister and I showed up a little early. The staff was incredible and very nice to us kids, and got us set up with the right ingredients to make cherry pies. We had a lot of fun making the dough while our parents ate out at a nearby restaurant, and I will never forget boiling my own cherry filling for the inside of the pie. When they were done, they tasted absolutely wonderful. We thanked the staff and left with full bellies.
So places like this...we end up at because the cousin like to throw cool birthday parties for the kids. Haha Its a cute lil kitchen in willow glen. They letcha host a cooking/baking party for a fee. The staff seems cool...not too much to describe here. I mean, like i said, came thru for a burthday party. We checked in, said hello to the fam and the kids all sat at the big table in the kitchen to hang with the other kids. There's another room where you can set up a party reception for the guests so its kinda back and forth through the place. When it came that time to bake, the staff introduced themselves and continued on with getting the kids split up to help bake a cake by letting the kids partake in mixing ingredients together as a team. While the cake mix is baking in cupcake trays, the guests eat and do their thing, then when the cupcakes are done the kids can move on to decorating. Nothing too out the world here...all in all, just a great time for the kids and fam to get together and enjoy the moments
