Happiness Cafe - San Jose

The vegan food here is excellent! It's located in a small shopping area with plenty of parking available. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of seating, so keep that in mind. The vegan hot dogs are great, and the creamy corn soup is truly amazing. The crispy shrimp is also very tasty. The stew served over brown rice is a standout dish, and the "Happiness over Rice" is fantastic. The tomato pasta with meatballs is very good too. The iced mocha is just okay, and the vegan tiramisu cake is a bit cold and hard, but the flavor is decent. Overall, it's a great place to try out, and I would definitely recommend it!

I was delighted to discover this charming little restaurant. I enjoyed a delicious vegan soup and flavorful boba milk tea, which they customized to my preferred level of sweetness. They also used a much better alternative to the typical, unpleasant non-dairy creamers that many places offer. The restaurant has thoughtful details, like recycled toilet paper in the restroom and compostable cups. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure to help me navigate my food allergies. I appreciated the outdoor seating, which allowed me to enjoy the lovely weather. I would have given it five stars if there had been more food options that didn't include fake meat—like just vegetable main dishes—and if the water cooler hadn’t had mildew on the spout (which they promptly addressed when I mentioned it). Still, I would definitely return!

The food here is always amazing. I love it here so much that when people visit from out of town, this is on my list. The owner is always so nice and the food is delicious. I would recommend something specific, but everything I’ve ever had here is fresh and flavorful.

This place is amazing! They have delicious vegan options. The pesto grill and ocean melt are my personal favorite. I definitely recommend this place! Owners are very friendly.
